Nearby

Six places the mountain keeps.

Kulamavu Dam

2.5 km

A masonry dam holding back still, dark water framed by forested ridges. Early morning, mist sits on the reservoir and the far bank disappears entirely.

Nadukani Viewpoint

2 km

The closest place to watch the high range change weather. On clear evenings the valley opens all the way to the plains; in monsoon, cloud simply walks past you.

Idukki Arch Dam

12 km

One of Asia's first double-curvature arch dams, wedged between the Kuravan and Kurathi hills. The approach drive through reserve forest is as memorable as the structure.

Cheeyappara Waterfalls

35 km

Seven cascading steps beside the Kochi–Munnar road, at their most theatrical between June and September when the monsoon is heaviest.

Anayirankal & Munnar Tea Country

1 hr 30

Clipped tea slopes, reservoirs and shola forest. An unhurried day trip from Kulamavu with the drive itself as the attraction.

Thommankuthu Falls

40 km

A seven-tier cascade reached on foot through rubber and spice plantations — a half day of walking, water and quiet.
